SAFE SPACES FOR DISCUSSION
Speaking Spaces is a community-based dialogue initiative designed to create safe, inclusive spaces for local residents to share their thoughts and feelings about anything that is affecting or impacting their lives. The project seeks to foster understanding, healing, and connection within the community by encouraging open discussion about safety, belonging, and wellbeing.
Key elements include:
-
Place: Understanding the region's infrastructure, population, and civic leadership.
-
Engaging Communities: Building relationships, addressing disparities, and supporting diversity through authentic community voices.
-
Community: Strengthening social, political, and cultural bonds while championing individual and collective aspirations.
-
Culture: Mapping and nurturing cultural activities to foster creativity and co-creation within the community.
-
Agency: Guiding individuals toward autonomy, shared power, and informed decision-making, while ensuring accountability and leadership opportunities.
